How to claim land

Claiming land is essential for protecting your builds, items, and hard work from other players and mob griefing. Our server uses the Open Parties and Claims mod, which integrates directly with Xaero’s World Map for a simple, visual way to manage your territory.

How to Create Your First Claim

Claiming is done directly on the world map. Each player starts with a set number of “claim blocks” which are used up as you claim more chunks.

  1. Open the World Map Press the M key on your keyboard to open the full-screen world map. You should see the area around your player.

  2. Select Chunks to Claim Find the area you want to protect. Right-click and drag your mouse over the chunks you wish to claim. A semi-transparent box will highlight your selection.

  3. Confirm Your Claim When you release the right mouse button, a confirmation dialog will appear. This window shows how many chunks you’ve selected and the cost in claim blocks. Click the “Claim Selected” button to finalize your claim.

Your claimed chunks will now appear as a colored overlay on your map. Congratulations, your land is now protected!

How to Unclaim Land

If you no longer need a claimed area or want to free up claim blocks, you can easily unclaim it.

  1. Open the World Map Press the M key to open the world map.

  2. Select Chunks to Unclaim Right-click and drag over the chunks you have already claimed.

  3. Confirm the Unclaim In the dialog box that appears, click the “Unclaim Selected” button. The claim will be removed, and the blocks will be returned to you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Why can’t I claim a certain area? The area is likely already claimed by another player. Claimed areas will show up as a colored overlay on your map. You can hover over them to see the owner’s name.

  • How do I get more claim blocks? There is a max claim limit. If you need more claim blocks then unclaim any unused chunks first.
