EMI Favorites
The Favorites feature in EMI is your personal, in-game to-do list. It lets you save a list of items that you want to craft or gather, keeping your goals front and center every time you open your inventory.
Think of it as a shopping list for your Minecraft projects. Instead of writing down the materials for a new machine on a piece of paper, you can add them to your Favorites list, which will appear on the left side of your inventory screen.
Managing Your Favorites
Section titled “Managing Your Favorites”Adding and removing items from your favorites list is simple and is done with a single hotkey.
To add an item to your favorites, simply hover over it in your inventory or in the main EMI item list and press the Favorite key (usually A
). A ghost image of the item will appear on the left side of your screen. This is your favorites list!
To remove an item from your favorites, just hover over it in the favorites list on the left and press the Favorite key (A
) again. The item will disappear from the list.
Favoriting an Entire Recipe
Section titled “Favoriting an Entire Recipe”This is where the Favorites feature becomes incredibly powerful. Instead of adding items one by one, you can add all the components for a recipe at once.
- Look up the recipe for a complex item you want to build (press
R
on the item). - In the recipe view, find the button that looks like a bookmark with a
+
sign. This is the “Add Tree to Favorites” button. - Click it.
EMI will automatically analyze the entire recipe tree and add every single raw ingredient and sub-component to your favorites list.
Putting It All Together: A Piston Example
Section titled “Putting It All Together: A Piston Example”Let’s say you want to build a Piston, but you don’t have the materials yet.
- Search for “Piston” in EMI and look up its recipe (
R
). - Click the “Add Tree to Favorites” button.
- Close the recipe screen and open your inventory.
Your favorites list on the left will now show you exactly what you need:
- Planks
- Cobblestone
- An Iron Ingot
- Redstone Dust
As you gather these items, you can easily see what you still need to find. Once you’ve crafted the Piston, you can remove the items from your favorites list to clean it up for your next project.
